UNILEVER: ‘CHEF VS FISH’
Thrills, gills and medieval eels
PROBLEM: Chefs think you're a dirty secret rather than a brand.
SOLUTION: Show you get their foodie culture.
MEDIA: CONTENT
If Unilever Food Solutions, or UFS, means anything to chefs, it’s probably as a supplier of shortcut stock concentrates and sauces. But UFS has much bigger aspirations for its family of brands, including cream substitute Rama.
As part of a wider push to engage with chefs, UFS commissioned four content videos, directed by Miika Vaso.
Based on the insight that preparing fish is the mark of a real chef, the films aimed to demonstrate that UFS shares their customer’s fascination with food, and their love of a challenge.
Our four challenges ranged from the visceral to the downright scary, and included prepping a salmon while blindfold, recreating a 15th century recipe for eels in milk and cooking with a poisonous scorpionfish (so toxic, it temporarily paralysed a member of the production team).
